Basketball professional Booker Coplin leaves the Bundesliga club Frankfurt Skyliners after clarifying the doping allegations against him. After the National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) had lifted the preliminary suspension against the shooting guard, the club and Coplin agreed to end the collaboration. The American changes with immediate effect to the MHP giant Ludwigsburg.

Last November, increased testosterone values ​​were found at Coplin, the Nada and the Skyliners suspended the player in January. As the Skyliners announced on Friday, studies by an independent team of doctors have now shown that the values ​​are due to a medication that Coplin had to take for years.

“I would have loved to see him again in the Skyliners jersey, but after his suspension in mid -January we had to react and dire. Nobody knew how the procedure would go out and how long it would take,” said Frankfurt’s managing director Thomas Sulzer: “With Booker, we now had eight foreigners who could only play six. play.” Coplin consequently decided to change.

The 27-year-old came to Frankfurt in 2023 and rose from the ProA to the Bundesliga with the Skyliners last year. In the current season, Coplin completed 17 games for the Hesse across competitions and launched an average of 10.4 points and 3.6 rebounds.
