The disqualified top jumpers of the Norwegians comment on the scandal.

Norway’s ski jumping stars Marius Lindvik and Johann Andre Forfang denied that the Nordic Ski World Cup in Trondheim has intentionally jumped with manipulated suits. In a statement by the Norwegian Ski Association, they explained on Sunday evening: “We are both absolutely destroyed. None of us would have jumped with suits that we knew that they were manipulated.”

Lindvik, who subsequently lost World Cup silver on Saturday, and forfang emphasized that they “had always had great confidence in the team of supervisors”, this “would always have worked hard to develop competitive equipment.”

At the same time, they admitted that all athletes have a certain responsibility for their equipment, but they “had no routine to check the work of the supervisor team, for example as far as the seams are concerned. We have to learn from this.”

The 26-year-old Lindvik, who had previously won gold from the normal hill in front of Andreas Wellinger at the home World Cup in Trondheim, and the three-year forfang, according to her statement, called for “full transparency about the processes, we look forward to talking to the FIS investigators”.

Jan Erik Aalbu, sports director of the Norwegian Ski Association, admitted the manipulation of the jump suits of Lindvik and Forfang by technicians on Sunday afternoon.
