Bayern Munich suffers another defeat in the EuroLeague. Against Piraeus, the German champion is once again without a chance.
The German basketball champion Bayern Munich received another beating in the EuroLeague. Against the Greek top team Olympiakos Piraeus, the team of world champion coach Gordon Herbert lost largely without a chance with a score of 71:96 (29:47) in front of their home crowd.

Perplexity among the Bayern players
“We had good moments. But you can’t afford four, five poor moments against such a team, as we did in the last three, four minutes of the first quarter and then a few more times in the game,” explained Herbert after the clear defeat.
Herbert: “We have to come back as a team.”
They had worked on “pushing the ball, after fast breaks and turnovers in training. We simply have to score against such a good team, but we didn’t do that.” The Bayern coach demanded: “We now have to come back as a team.”
In the future, Bayern can rely on their prominent new signing from the NBA, Spencer Dinwiddie. According to Herbert, however, it’s even more important that the injured Johannes Voigtmann returns: “He has trained twice and he will be back next week,” he announced.
For Bayern, who can field four German European Championship heroes in Andreas Obst, Oscar da Silva, Justus Hollatz and Leon scratch, this is already the fourth defeat on the sixth matchday of the EuroLeague. The most successful scorer of the match was the American Tyler Dorsey with 19 points, while Obst scored best on the opposing side (15 points).
Fruit gives Bavaria a good start
He initially also ensured the strong start of his team, the first seven points of the Munich team were scored by the 29-year-old.
Subsequently, however, Piraeus showed their full strength, and by halftime, Bayern were already clearly behind. Although the Herbert team showed a much more solid performance in the third quarter, there was no comeback.
In just four days, there is a chance for redemption in the next home game against Real Madrid.
