One day before the Spanish cup final, the scheduled referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea complained about the pressure exercised by Real Madrid.
The royal ones had criticized the impartial in their TV channel and, among other things, calculated the victory rates of Real and FC Barcelona at games under the direction of the Basque. According to media reports, Real then called for an exchange of the referee. De Burgos Bengoetxea has been on the list of FIFA referees since 2018.
Dealing with impartial in Spain has been an issue for several months. In February, Real Madrid had repeatedly publicly criticized the services of the impartial. José Luis Munuera Montero met, who had then been tackled badly on social networks and even received death threats.
