Humphries won with 5:3 legs and took his second victory in the second match of the current tournament. The 30-year-old perfected the victory in the eighth leg when the 2024 world champion achieved a 9-darter.

Humphries had started the leg with 177 points, followed by a 180 in the second shot, and made the remaining 144 points via triple-20, triple-20, and double-12. Smith applauded appreciatively and paid respect to his compatriot.
