DFB goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen announces separation

Germany’s injured national goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen and his wife Daniela go separate ways.

National goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen and his wife Daniela broke up. The 32-year-old announced this on Thursday afternoon on his Instagram channel.

“This decision was not easy for us, but we both believe that it is the best step for us,” wrote the currently injured goalkeeper from FC Barcelona and asked for respect for the family privacy. The couple has two sons together, the older one is five years old, the younger was born in early 2024.

“We continue to undertake to work together as parents and to treat each other with respect and appreciation, as we always did,” assured Ter Stegen.

The keeper, who has been playing for FC Barcelona since 2014, had married his wife there in 2017. The successor of Manuel Neuer is currently pausing as number 1 in the DFB goal since September 2024 due to a patella tendon tear and will no longer intervene in the action this season.
