The German Ski Association (DSV) has taken note of the Norwegian manipulation confession with strange and urgently demands further information. “That can only be a first step. The essential questions remain open,” said DSV spokesman Ralph Eder immediately after returning from the World Cup in Trondheim to the SID.

Now the World Association FIS is required to examine the incident. “Much of the representations of the Norwegians is not understandable. For example, we are closely coordinated by the fit between the suits between trainers, supervisors and athletes,” said Eder.

In addition, DSV sports director Horst Hüttel from FIS chief controller Christian Kathol called for a complete list of all suits used by Norway’s ski jumping men in all World Cup competitions, including the qualifications used. With the chip, which according to FIS regulations incorporated into every suit and controlled in use, the respective suits must be identified precisely.

Jan Erik Aalbu, sports director of the Norwegian Ski Association, admitted the manipulation of Marius Lindvik and Johann Andre Forfang by technicians on Sunday. Neither he nor the jumper would have known about it.

The presentation that the suits were only used by the Großchanze on Saturday in the World Cup competition must now be checked by the World Association. “The FIS is challenged, and that is all consequently,” said Eder.

After jumping from the Großchanze, three Norwegians had been disqualified, including the second -placed Lindvik. He had previously won gold in front of Andreas Wellinger on the normal hill.
