Serbia, Turkey and the Czech Republic, also take part in the four -day tournament on the Isar.
The German basketball world champions will play at the Supercup in Munich for the European Championships in summer. As the German Basketball Bund (DBB) announced, vice world champion Serbia, Turkey and the Czech Republic also take part in the Mini tournament (August 15 and 16) in the Isar. The European Championship starts just eleven days after the final, in which the German national team completes the group phase in Tampere/Finland.
National coach Alex Múmbrú described the Supercup as “excellent opportunity to prepare for the Eurobasket”. The three opponents are “among the best teams in Europe,” continued the Spaniard. It will be “very important to see where we are at the time and what we still have to work on”. His team initially played against Turkey in the semi -finals on August 15th. All games run for magenta for free.
Thus, the European Championship preparation of the German national team is taking more and more form. On August 10, the team tested in Mannheim against Slovenia, on August 21 in Madrid, and two days later in Cologne it goes against European champion Spain. In the preliminary round with host Finland, Sweden, Lithuania, Montenegro and Great Britain, Germany will deal with the European Championship. The final round rises in Riga.
