This winter should be remembered by Riitta-Liisa Roponen anything but a beautiful winter. On the contrary! On Instagram, the Finnish cross-country skiing icon has revealed that it was left by her husband-and suffered seriously.

“Winter was the darkest and hardest of my life,” formulated the 46-year-old. “I lost my best friend, my husband, my rock in the surf. When I lost you, I lost everything. Toni submitted the divorce.”

Riitta-Liisa Roponen experienced great success in her career. The Finnin became world champion three times, and in 2010 she won bronze at the Olympics in Vancouver. Meanwhile, it is also unforgettable how she won the Finnish season at the age of 43 at the age of 43.

Ropon did not want separation

Toni Roponen was always at her side – as a husband and as a trainer. Both parents were already in 2004, two years later the wedding followed, now the divorce.

The fact that the separation is not a common decision – the ex -athlete wrote that she loved her husband “to the moon and back” – became clear in the further course of her post.
