Nottingham Forest has signed the Portuguese Vitor Pereira as their fourth team manager of the current Premier League season. As the relegation-threatened club announced on Sunday, the 57-year-old will receive a contract until summer 2027. In Germany, Pereira is known for a six-month intermezzo at 1860 Munich, which ended with the Lions being relegated to the 3. Liga in 2017.

Pereira succeeds Sean Dyche, who was sacked on Thursday. During the current season, Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou had already had to leave.

In the league, the club is in 17th place and has a three-point lead over a relegation spot. Pereira will make his debut on Thursday (6:45 PM) in the first leg of the Europa League playoffs against Fenerbahce Istanbul.

In the Premier League, Pereira last worked for Wolverhampton Wanderers, whom he saved from relegation last season. In November, the Wolves, who are still bottom of the table, parted ways with Pereira.
