The selection of the German Curling Association (DCV), World Cup fifth from 2024, is fighting for the first Olympic ticket since Sochi 2014. Seven starting places are awarded in Canada, World Cup participants Italy is automatically qualified for Milan/Cortina 2026.
In Moose Jaw in the province of Saskatchewan, 13 teams fight for six places in the final round, everyone plays against everyone in round-robin mode. The German team took eleventh after their first three games, and they would have to take eighth place for direct qualifications for the Olympics.
If the DCV team from national coach Uli Kapp missed its goal at the World Cup, there will be a qualification tournament in the Canadian Kelowna in December. Two more starting places for Olympics are played there. The next German opponent at the World Cup is Austria on Monday (5 p.m. CEST).
