Golden Boy: Only two Bundesliga talents and no Germans there

Jobe Bellingham is on the shortlist for the Golden Boy Award

The final 25 contenders for the Golden Boy Award have been confirmed. While there is no German player, the Bundesliga is represented twice.

Two Bundesliga professionals have made it to the final selection for the Golden Boy Award. Eliesse Ben Seghir from Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund’s Jobe Bellingham, who received a wildcard, are among the 25 candidates for the best U21 player in Europe.

The Italian sports newspaper Tuttosport , which has been awarding the prize since 2003, published the final shortlist on Wednesday evening. Meanwhile, no German player is included.

Last year, Barcelona’s top star Lamine Yamal received the trophy. However, the 18-year-old is missing from the current shortlist because as the previous year’s winner, he cannot win a second time.

One of the big favorites for the coveted award this year is 20-year-old Desiré Doué from Paris Saint-Germain.

Former Bayern talent Kenan Yildiz, who now plays for Juventus Turin, also has hopes.

The winner will be announced in November.
