Martin Schindler could secure his place in the round of 16 tonight.
With Martin Schindler, Niko Springer and Lukas Wenig, three German darts players have qualified for the event. The defending champion is Luke Littler, who was able to defeat surprise finalist Martin Lukeman 16:3 in the final last year.
For Schindler it’s about the round of 16
After his defeat against Luke Woodhouse and the victory over Stephen Bunting, Martin Schindler must win today’s third and final group game to secure his round of 16 ticket.
Germany’s number one wants to meet Alexis Toylo. Like Schindler, the Filipino has already collected two points and is competing with “The Wall” for second place in Group C, which entitles him to participate in the round of 16.
Grand Slam: Mode and Procedure
32 players take part in the Grand Slam of Darts, who are initially divided into eight groups of four. Only the two best of each group advance to the knockout stage. In the group stage “Best of 9 Legs” is played.

After that, the quarter-finals (“Best of 31 Legs”) will be held on Friday and Saturday, before the semi-finals (“Best of 31 Legs”) follow on Sunday afternoon. The final will take place on Sunday evening. The winner has to win 16 legs (“Best of 31 Legs”).
