After a 0-3 loss against Sassuolo, it’s over for the Croatian. Former Fiorentina coach Raffaele Palladino could be the successor.
Italian first division club Atalanta Bergamo has parted ways with coach Ivan Juric after 15 games. The 2024 Europa League winner reacted to the poor start to the season, after the 0-3 home defeat against US Sassuolo on Sunday, Bergamo is only in 13th place in Serie A.
Former Italian international Raffaele Palladino (most recently AC Fiorentina) is being considered as Juric’s successor.
Former Croatian international Juric (50) only succeeded Atalanta’s coaching icon Gian Piero Gasperini (now AS Roma) at the start of the current season. Gasperini won the Europa League with Atalanta in 2024, after a victory over Bayer Leverkusen.
In the Champions League, Atalanta has started satisfactorily with seven points from four games, where the Lombards will be guests at Eintracht Frankfurt on the next matchday (November 26).
Juric is leaving a club for the fourth time in just one and a half years. Exactly one year ago to the day, he was kicked out of AS Roma, where he hardly let Mats Hummels, who has since retired, play. In total, he was in charge there for 12 games.
As coach of FC Southampton, he was only in action for 16 games, his longest period (122 games) at FC Turin ended in the summer of 2024.
