In the bathrobe through LA: ex-NBA star, betting debts released

Curious campaign in the USA: After the new Celtics defeat, Paul Pierce solves a promise – it’s about a walk in the bathrobe.

Former NBA star Paul Pierce kept his word-and apparently redeemed his betting debts with style. After the second comeback victory of the New York Knicks against defending champion Boston Celtics in the play-off quarter-finals, Pierce, Celtics hero of the 2000s, trudged through Los Angeles on Thursday morning.

In the TV show Speak, the 2008 Celtics champion had fully announced that it was “impossible” that Boston record champion would also lose two in the first duel. Should it happen, he will run barefoot to work – “in my bathrobe”. It was more likely, he had added, “to see a dinosaurs in front of the studio”. But it came differently than Pierce predicted.

Google Maps calculated around eight hours

For the second time in a row, New York made a gap of 20 points and won 91:90-a novelty in the history of the play-offs. And pierce? He delivered: With sunrise, the 47-year-old filmed himself on his long walk through the California streets and continuously posted his action on social media. Google Maps calculated a time of around eight hours for the 20 miles long.

The Knicks, who had received four defeats against Boston in the regular season, need two successes in the best-of-Seven series. Game three will take place on Saturday (9:30 p.m. CEST) in the Madison Square Garden.

Paul Pierce is likely to think carefully about what forecasts he will make this time.
