Chelsea FC sells its own women’s team – and not only avoids a new loss, but even makes profit!
Chelsea FC will apparently also present an astonishing balance sheet thanks to a financial trick: The Top Club, which has been as active in the transfer market in recent years, will write full black at the end of the financial year on June 30th.
This reports, among others, The Guardian . How does it come about?
Todd Boehly and FC Chelsea are taking millions with a curious sale
Chelsea and owner Todd Boehly sold their own women’s team to the parent company Blueco 22 – and made a profit of EUR 153.5 million in the previous year (108 million euros), minus taxes. The figures that player sales also incorporate emerges from the financial report of the blues.
Chelsea-trick probably worked before
Chelsea sold his own team to himself in order to be able to show a balance sheet that lies in accordance with the financial rules of the Premier League (PSR).
The league is supposed to critically obscure the deal that has been emerging for a long time. In the recent past, however, it probably gave the green light for a comparable sale when the club had ceded two hotels to Blueco 22. Chelsea had taken 91.5 million euros in this way.
In the meantime, nothing should change for the women’s team, the team is on the way to entering the sixth championship title in series.
