Klopp now to Real? He says that himself

Jürgen Klopp doesn't want to know anything about Real Madrid

After Xabi Alonso’s surprising departure from Real Madrid, Jürgen Klopp is confronted with the coaching question. His answer is clear.

Jürgen Klopp has, not surprisingly, ruled out a possible takeover of the coaching position at Spanish record champions Real Madrid.

“That has nothing to do with me at all and didn’t trigger anything in me,” said the Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull on the show “Sport und Talk aus dem Hangar-7” on ServusTV about the coaching change at Real.

Alonso out at Real Madrid – Klopp’s take

On Monday, the “Royals” (Real Madrid) parted ways with former Leverkusen championship coach Xabi Alonso. Klopp had repeatedly emphasized recently that he was not planning a return to the dugout.

“The coaching market is being stirred up, and it’s not bad to observe the whole thing and not think about what it could mean for oneself,” the 58-year-old said now, “because wherever you are, you are in the right place.”

What is a “sign” for Klopp

Klopp interpreted Alonso’s failure in Madrid as “a sign that not everything is 100 percent right there.” He said the Spaniard is an “outstanding coaching talent” but had not had an easy time as the successor to “legend” Carlo Ancelotti, “who had a very specific way of coaching his football teams.”

“I really feel sorry for him,” Klopp added with a view to Alonso, “because I consider him a great coach.”
