La Liga: bad news for Flick and Barca!

Before the duel with Piraeus, Hansi Flick talks about his emotional transformation. The Barça coach remembers his stoic demeanor in the 8-2 win with Bayern and raves about his new love for the club.

Hansi Flick has to lament another prominent absence. This time it affects one of his most important players.

Hansi Flick will have to do without one of his most important players in the coming weeks: Spanish superstar Pedri has suffered a muscle injury and will be out for the time being.

As the club announced, the midfielder suffered a tear in the distal biceps muscle of his left thigh. The club itself did not provide any information on the length of the absence, but Spanish media are talking about a longer forced break.

Pedri is not expected back until after the next international break – which takes place in mid-November.

Barca plagued by injury problems

The absence comes at a bad time for Flick and Barca. After the defeat in the Clásico against Real Madrid, the Catalans are under pressure in LaLiga, with the gap to the Royals already standing at five points after ten games.

Furthermore, Barcelona is already plagued by injury concerns. In midfield, Gavi and Dani Olmo have recently been out as well. The offense had to do without Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski. In defense, Andreas Christensen is missing, and in goal, Joan García and Marc-André ter Stegen are unavailable.

Pedri is one of Flick’s most important players. So far, he has been in the starting lineup in every match of the season.
