Because the Bryne FK gives its best player an unusual gift in Norway, activists are running storm.
With an unusual “gift” for the “player of the game”, the Norwegian first division club Bryne FK called up the local animal rights activists. “That must stop immediately! We must not allow this kind of broken law,” said Ashild Roaldset, head of the organization “Dyrebeskyttelsen Norge”, the Norwegian broadcasting NRK and spoke of “complete idiotie”.
What happened? Bryne player Axel Kryger accepted a bodyy lamb after the 3-1 home win against Haugesund on Monday evening. Björn Hagerup Röken, head of marketing of the home club of striker Erling Haaland, emphasized that the lamb was only symbolically presented – as the reindeer at the World Cup slalom in Levi, Finnish every year. The lamb was also allowed to eat a little lawn, the animal welfare was observed.
Such actions have a tradition in the self -proclaimed “farmers club”, Bryne wants to promote the advantages of the region and strengthen the local economy. After the first home game of the season against Meister Bodö/Glimt (0: 1), goalkeeper Ján de Boer received four pallets of eggs. A “price” is planned for the next home game.
