Lionel Messi recognizes the late head of the Catholic Church with very personal words.
Football superstar Lionel Messi reacted with very personal words to the death of the Pope Francis, which also comes from Argentina. The world champion described the first Latin American Pontifex on his Instagram channel as “another, a nearby pope”.
For his message, Messi posted a photo together with the previous head of the Catholic Church and confessing football lovers.
“Thank you for making the world a better place. We will miss it,” the eight -time world football player wrote to the Pope in 2013 to attend the Argentine national team shortly after the election of Francis.
