Next coaching on NBA team
After a disappointing main round in the NBA, the Suns draw consequences. The head coach has to go once again.
The Phoenix Suns separated after a disappointing season in the NBA from head coach Mike Budenholzer. This was announced by the basketball franchise from the US state of Arizona. As an eleventh of the Western Conference, the Suns surprisingly missed the playoffs and the play-in tournament.
“Our goal remains to compete at the highest level, and we did not meet expectations this season,” said the club’s statement: “Our fans deserve something better. Changes are necessary.”
It is already the third season in a row, according to which Phoenix is reorganized in the position of the head coach.
Budenholzer had only taken over the team around superstar Kevin Durant before the 2024/25 season after Frank Vogel was released. The 55-year-old had signed a five-year contract. In 2020/21, Budenholzer won the NBA title with the Milwaukee Bucks. A successor has not yet been determined.
