Andrea Pirlo is continuing his coaching career in the United Arab Emirates after stints in Italy and Turkey.
Andrea Pirlo is moving to the United Arab Emirates. The Italian was presented as the new head coach at the club United FC from Dubai on Friday.
The 46-year-old “embodies the values and ambitions of our club, we are confident that he will play a key role in our further growth,” said club chief Ilie Cebanu, who comes from Moldova.
Pirlo last coached Sampdoria Genoa from 2023 to 2024. Before that, he worked at Juventus Turin and the Turkish club Fatih Karagümrük. His greatest success as a coach was winning the Italian Cup with Juve in 2021.
As a player, Pirlo was much more successful at AC Milan and Juventus: in 2006, the former midfielder became world champion, as well as six-time Italian champion and two-time cup winner and Champions League winner.
