Marc-André ter Stegen’s long period of suffering ends! The name of the German keeper appears on the list of squads for the cup final.
Marc-André Ter Stegen is back! The goalkeeper is on the list of squads of FC Barcelona for the cup final against Real Madrid next Saturday (10 p.m. in the live ticker). The Catalans announced this on Friday morning.
It is unlikely that the German national goalkeeper is used in Clásico. On Thursday, he had participated in team training for the first time and then obviously received the green light for squadramination. Routinier Wojciech Szczęsny had confidently represented ter Stegen in recent months.
The pole had been signed after Ter Stegen seriously injured FC Villarreal in September of the previous year. The patella tendon tear resulted in an operation and a long rehab.
Flick looks ready
“He is ready. I’ll talk to him. We will decide when the best time is to reappear,” said coach Hansi Flick before the game against RCD Mallorca last Tuesday.
So while the German international is available again, Alejandro Balde, Robert Lewandowski, Marc Casadó and Marc Bernal are canceled.
With Barcelona, Ter Stegen also fights for the title in the Champions League (semi -finals against Inter Milan) and in the local league (league lead, four points ahead of Real Madrid). With the German national team, the Final Four in the Nations League was scheduled for at the beginning of June.
