According to the US media outlet, the 40-year-old striker earns $280 million (approximately €240.7 million) in the current season through his income from Saudi Arabian top club Al-Nassr and advertising deals, placing him at the top of the rankings for the sixth time in the past ten years.

The former World Footballer of the Year, who was estimated by media and financial company Bloomberg to have a net worth of $1.4 billion, reportedly earns twice as much as his eternal rival Lionel Messi.

Behind the two long-time icons of world football, Frenchman Karim Benzema from Al-Nassr’s league competitor Al-Ittihad ranks third on the Forbes list with an income of $104 million.

In fourth place follows his compatriot and former world champion Kylian Mbappé from Spanish elite club Real Madrid with $95 million as the highest-paid player of a European club.
