At the UK Open, Martin Schindler is the last remaining German. Does “The Wall” continue to keep the German flag up? Sport1 shows the complete spectacle live on free TV.
The UK Open is slowly approaching the decisive phase – and with Martin Schindler on Saturday only a German is fighting to move into the round of 16. The 23rd edition of the tournament at Butlin’s Minhead Resort started with twelve Germans on Friday.
Now only “The Wall” keeps the German flag up, in the first slot of the day he plays against Dylan Slevin from Ireland (2 p.m.). Sport1 broadcasts live on TV and starts at 12.30 p.m. with the countdown.
Niko Springer started the start on Friday with a real exclamation mark. In the first round, the 24-year-old almost broke an old record by Phil Taylor. The “Meenzer Bub” played an average of 115.92 and thus the second highest in the tournament history.
In addition, this meant a new German TV, stage and major record. After victories in the first two rounds, however, he was already in the 3rd round.
Bitter: Gabriel Clemens had already failed in his opening match in the same round, even though he played a 100 Average and hit all of his five double tests.
In the 4th round of the UK Open, in addition to Schindler, only Ricardo Pietreczko was in the race, but “Pikachu” also narrowly left out in his opening match. He lost to the Latvian Madars Razma with 9:10.
