The cross-country skiing queen Therese Johaub asks Norway’s monarch whether she should start at Olympics. And the king gives a clear answer.
Norway’s King Harald has faltered the cancellation of cross-country skiing queen Therese Johaug.
At a meeting in the palace, the monarch had her with the question “Yes, will it be what – or not?” greeted, revealed the 14-time world champion. She then asked for advice whether she should start at the Olympics. The king replied with “yes”: “do it”.

The 36 -year -old Johaug had dared a comeback before last season. Because this hopes for gold at the home World Cup in Trondheim in front of the king’s eyes, she could now continue to the 2026 Olympics in Milan until the 2026 Olympics.
After the home race in Oslo, Johaug actually gave the impression that her career was at the end (“I have the feeling that it is over now” – “It takes a lot, very, very much for me to start a new season again”), but now everything seems open again.

“So far I have been 99 percent sure that I will stop. Now it has become a little less,” said Johaug.
King Harald is a big winter sports fan, and crown princess Mette-Marit also spurred her to continue at the gala dinner on Tuesday. In addition, her husband Nils Jakob Hoff “every day” is trying to persuade them: “But I’m not sure”. There will be a decision this month.
Johaug had become a mother in May 2023, but had given her comeback last winter and celebrated six World Cup victories. At the World Cup, she “only” won three times silver and once bronze. At the Olympic Games, Johaug has won four gold medals so far, three of them in Beijing in 2022.
