Transfer: Fixed! Ortega leaves Man City

Done! Ortega leaves Man City

Former Bielefeld player Stefan Ortega Moreno wants more playing time and is leaving Manchester City.

Manchester City is having an atypical season for the club. They were eliminated early from the Champions League and are highly unlikely to become English champions. Goalkeeper Stefan Ortega reveals how coach Pep Guardiola works in times of crisis.

Goalkeeper Stefan Ortega Moreno is leaving Manchester City after three and a half years and is joining Nottingham Forest. In Nottingham, Ortega Moreno signs a contract until the end of the season. Both clubs announced this on Sunday.

The 33-year-old had moved to ManCity in July 2022 from then-Bundesliga club Arminia Bielefeld and made a total of 56 competitive appearances during that time. In his first season, he won the treble with City.

“I really enjoyed my time at Manchester City,” Ortega Moreno said on his departure. He is leaving the club “as a better goalkeeper” and looks back on a “formative and successful phase.”

City’s sporting director Hugo Viana praised the German’s importance to the club’s successes. “Without him, much of what the city achieved during this time would not have been possible,” said Viana.
