After only four months, Williams’ time ends at the Bundesliga club Ludwigsburg.
Basketball Bundesliga club MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg has dissolved the contract, which runs until the summer with the British Deane Williams, with immediate effect. This was announced by the table night on Friday. After only four months and 15 competitive players, the commitment of the 28-year-old ends “prematurely”. The exact reason was not mentioned, but “player and club” would have agreed together.
Filling “playful gaps”, as coach John Patrick had justified the November transfer, was not successful. Williams came to 7.4 points and 3.9 rebounds in Ludwigsburg. Before the 2.03 m forward moved to the giants, he had completed a more mixed season in Italian Lega A near Napoli Basket.
It is not yet clear which club he will open for in the future and whether there will be a reunion in the Bundesliga. From 2022 to 2024 Williams was successful for a Bundesliga club on the court, with which EWE Baskets Oldenburg even achieved the Champions League victory in 2023.
