NBA: Wagner shines in the last test before the start of the season

Schröder answers criticism with a clear statement!

The star of the Orlando Magic shows efficiency and particularly sets a small exclamation mark from behind the three-point line.

Franz Wagner (r.) is in top form

Just in time for the start of the NBA season, German basketball star Franz Wagner seems to be finding his top form. In the final preseason game before the start of the new season, the Berlin native led his Orlando Magic to a 132-125 victory against the New Orleans Pelicans and shone as the best shooter on the court.

Wagner scored 24 points in just over 25 minutes of playing time, but particularly impressed with his efficiency: eight of his 14 shots found the basket. Most notably, the world and European champion made three of six three-pointers – recently, the 24-year-old had been criticized for his lack of consistency from behind the three-point line. European champion Tristan da Silva also had a decent game with seven points in 15 minutes.

The new season of the world’s best basketball league begins overnight on Wednesday (German time) with the game of champion Oklahoma City Thunder against the Houston Rockets. Wagner and Orlando play their first game the following day against Miami Heat.
