Gabriel Clemens is in the 2nd round in Hildesheim

Second day of the German Darts Championship in Hildesheim. Three Germans remain in the tournament: Martin Schindler, Ricardo Pietreczko, and Gabriel Clemens.

As part of the PDC European Tour, the darts stars are competing for the title at the German Darts Championship in the “Halle 39” in Hildesheim from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening. SPORT1 is broadcasting the final European Tour event of the year LIVE on free TV.

In the afternoon session, attention turns to Pietreczko and Clemens. The “German Giant” faces Dave Chisnall in his second-round match. “Pikachu” will take on defending champion Peter Wright.

Schindler is part of the evening session, where he will play against William O’Connor. Also participating are Jonny Clayton, Gerwyn Price, Josh Rock, and Stephen Bunting.

Last year, Wright triumphed in Hildesheim. “Snakebite” defeated the current world champion Luke Littler 8:5 in the final.

The current world champion Littler is not participating this year. Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen, and Gary Anderson will also not be competing in Hildesheim. Nevertheless, the field of participants is well-stocked with prominent players. Stephen Bunting leads the seeded list ahead of James Wade and Jonny Clayton.

In the first four rounds, including the quarterfinals, matches are played in the “Best-of-11-Legs” format: six legs are needed to secure a win. From the semifinals onward, the decision is made in the “Best of 13” format. The final is played as “Best of 15.”
