Real Madrid will have to do without midfielder Jude Bellingham for the time being.
The former Dortmund player suffered a left thigh injury in Sunday’s 2-1 La Liga match against Rayo Vallecano and is expected to be out for a month. The Royals announced that further action would be monitored.
La Liga: Bellingham substituted in tears
Bellingham had to leave the pitch in the tenth minute after a sprint, having clutched the back of his thigh, and immediately went to the ground. Bellingham, who had to be comforted by his teammates, disappeared into the player tunnel in tears.
The midfielder will therefore likely miss Real’s upcoming Champions League play-offs against Benfica Lisbon (February 17 and 25).
