Premier League: Coach crash in England!

After the 2-2 draw at Burnley FC, Spurs coach Thomas Frank is satisfied with his team's development and thanks his team's fans for their support.

Tottenham Hotspur is drawing consequences from its sporting downturn. Coach Thomas Frank is being shown the door with immediate effect.

Tottenham Hotspur has parted ways with coach Thomas Frank with immediate effect. The Premier League club officially announced this on Wednesday morning.

“The club has decided to make a change in the position of the men’s first-team head coach, and Thomas Frank will leave his post today,” it said in a statement on X.

Thomas Frank is no longer Spurs coach

Frank had only taken over the Spurs in the summer of 2025. However, the ambitious club currently only occupies 16th place in the Premier League. In the league, Tottenham has been winless for eight games, collecting only four draws during this period.

Tottenham: Frank Did Not See His Job as Endangered

Most recently, there had been a 1-2 defeat against Newcastle United on Tuesday evening. Afterwards, Frank still expressed optimism that his job was not in danger. “I spoke to the owners yesterday, so no,” emphasizes the Dane.

However, the bosses now made a different decision. “However, the results and performances have led the board to conclude that a change is necessary at this point in the season,” the club announced.

And further: “Throughout his time at the club, Thomas has shown unwavering commitment and given his all to move the club forward. We would like to thank him for his contribution and wish him every success for the future.”

Short tenure at Spurs

Before his time at Tottenham, Frank had coached FC Brentford for seven years. Now, his spell at Spurs is already over after just over half a season.

While Tottenham’s last league win dates back to December, things are going significantly better in the Champions League: There, the team under Frank’s command confidently entered the knockout phase as fourth in the table. In the round of 16, the club will face Atlético Madrid, Juventus Turin, Galatasaray, or Brugge.
