A young footballer who once belonged to the World Squad of FC Bayern suffers a head injury and dies from the consequences.
Tragic training accident with a fatal outcome: A talented Chinese young football player died of the consequences of a serious head injury. This was announced by his club on Thursday. Guo Jiaxuan, who was nominated for China’s U-17 national team in 2023 and was once part of FC Bayern World Squad project, died one day before his 19th birthday.
Guo fell into a coma in February after an accident during a training game in Spain between the U20 team of Beijing and the Spanish association RC Alcobendas in Madrid. A local hospital had found his brain death before it was moved to China to be treated in Beijing Tantan Hospital. Guo, who played Beijing Guoan as a defender for the U19 team of the top club, died on Wednesday evening.
