Appointment chaos in front of Bavaria’s final series

Chaos before the Finals in the BBL! Ulm is therefore asking the league to adjust the schedule.

Ratiopharm Ulm has asked the league to adjust the schedule before the final series of the BBL playoffs against the basketball players of FC Bayern Munich.

Specifically, it concerns a looming temporal overlap: game four (June 24) and five (June 26) of the final series would collide with the NBA Draft (2 a.m., June 25), in which Ulm’s super talents Noa Essengue and Ben Saraf participate.

At least the previous scheduling would prevent the professionals from attending the draft gala and playing in the corresponding games of the finals.

“Decision between childhood dreams”

Ulm stated in a statement on Thursday that the current plan requires Essengue and Saraf “to decide between two childhood dreams: fighting for a national title and the unique moment of being selected by an NBA team.”

For Saraf, attending the gala in New York as the first player from Israel would even be historic.

“Since I hope that we will get to the final and win the championship there, it could be that I cannot be there. If the series goes over five games, I am definitely not on site because I would of course play,” Saraf had already explained at the beginning of June in a media round in which SPORT1 also participated.

“We are optimistic that the easyCredit BBL and FC Bayern Basketball will not only take into account the dreams of all young basketball talents, but also a final under fair sporting conditions in which the best of the best compete against each other,” the Ulmers finally emphasized their demand.

The series between Bayern and Ulm begins on Sunday at 6 p.m. with game one in the Munich SAP Garden (in the LIVETICKER).
