Raúl is leaving Real Madrid! In a statement, the Royals pay tribute to the youth coach and former striker.
Striker legend Raúl will leave Real Madrid. The Spanish capital club announced this in a statement.
“Real Madrid was proud to have one of the greatest legends of our history and world football as coach and manager of our youth team,” it says.
The 47-year-old has been coaching third division team Real Madrid Castilla, the second team of the “Royals”, since 2019.
Raúl as Ancelotti successor
In connection with the departure of Carlo Ancelotti as coach of the professionals, Raúl was also traded as a possible successor.
Finally, however, favorite Xabi Alonso was introduced as the new coach.
“Raúl also exemplifies all the values of Real Madrid in an exemplary manner. Values that he also passed on as a coach,” raved the club. He will “always be in the hearts of all Madridistas and Real Madrid will always be his home.”
