Duo with Zidane? Ribéry would not be averse

“It is always fun to be with Zizou. We always had a good relationship,” says Ribéry – he only saw Zidane in Marseille last summer and immediately got on again: “We do not know exactly whether he will be the next national coach. I wish it, because Zizou would be the best thing that can happen to the Bleus.”

Zidane is traded as the successor to Didier Deschamps, whose contract expires after the 2026 World Cup – and who has announced not to extend his contract.

From the perspective of the 41-year-old Ribéry, the eleven-year-old Zidane would be the ideal solution as a deschamps heir: Zidane is an outstanding trainer, a respect person, a “role model”.

The first time is not speculated on a collaboration between Zidane and Ribéry: Last year, when Zidane was the successor to Thomas Tuchels near Bavaria, the sport of thought plays about Ribéry reported as an assistant coach. As is well known, the commitment did not come about.
