The world champion, who will end his career after this season, looks back on his time in Rome.
Mats Hummels can imagine that he will be preserved for sport even after the end of his career at the end of this season. “Football is definitely an option,” said the 36 -year -old defender from the Italian first division club AS Rome in an interview on the portal of the Spanish real estate platform Idealista .
“Football is my world and gives me incredible satisfaction,” said Hummels. The 2014 world champion had spent his club career only at Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund until last summer, and in September 2024 he moved to Italy.
Hummels hopes for a happy ending
At the beginning of April, Hummels announced his end of his career in Rome after changing months.
“It was a wonderful adventure,” he said. “As I have said several times, I want it to become a story with a happy ending, I want to end the season with the Roma in Europe.”
Three game days before the end of the season, the club is five of the fifth place in series A and still has chances of qualifying for the Champions League.
