Spanish record champions Real Madrid want to open up to investors.
President Florentino Perez declared on Sunday at the club’s general assembly that this measure should “preserve and increase the value of the club.”
Perez Explains
According to the plans, investors should receive a minority stake of a maximum of five to ten percent.
“We want our traditional structure to master the challenges of the future, and more than ever we need the active participation of our 100,000 members in preserving our heritage,” said Perez.
The members have so far been the sole decision-makers. The entry of investors would probably have to be voted on at an extraordinary general assembly.
